Kalida To Reload For Success In ‘21-22

KALIDA-The Kalida Wildcats saw them finish the 2020-2021 season with unfinished business as they lost to Lincolnview in the sectional finals. The Wildcats will reload with experience as they look to get a Conference title next to their name in the 2021-2022 season.

Kalida will look to replace the four year letter winner of Luke Erhart who was first team all-PCL a year ago. Three seniors will be set to lead the Wildcats as part of the five returning lettermen coming back for ninth year head coach Ryan Stechschulte. Tyson Siefker, Justin Siebeneck, and Grant Vorst all saw some playing time as the Wildcats finished third in the Putnam County last season.

“It’s going to be important for our team to get better every single day we touch the floor in order for us to be where we want at the end of the season,” said Stechschulte.

The big part of the roster will come from the junior class as five of them will get to take the floor. Drew Fersch and Jaden Smith played some big minutes a year ago while Ej Miller, Evan Stechschulte, and Ethan Warnecke will look to provide some big minutes for the team this season.

Kalida is slated to begin their season on November 27th when they visit the Arlington Red Devils. The Wildcats will play their first conference game on December 7th when they visit the launch pad to take on Pandora-Gilboa.
