Allen East to contend in NWC
HARROD-Gabe Young’s Mustangs made strides last winter as they finished 14-10 on the season and 3-5 in the tough NWC. Allen East will return four starters as they compete for an NWC crown.
Jacob Herberger, Carson Clum, Keaton Miller, and Keaton Lehman are the returning lettermen, while Trey Hensley, Braelyn Schultz, and Ethan Young are expected to see plenty of playing time this season.
“With 4 starters returning we look to be competitive in every game. We have a great group and our seniors that have done a nice job of building a great culture the last 3 years,” said Young.
Young believes his team has learned enough to be the top dog in the conference this season.
“We have a chance to be right at the top this year. We’re gonna have to play well, as the NWC is rough to run through. Our guys went through the ups and downs of conference play a season ago. We had our chance against both conference champs from a year ago and just didn’t finish. We learned from that and took a lot away from it.”
The Mustangs will begin their quest for a NWC championship on December 16th when they visit Delphos Jefferson.
