SPENCERVILLE-For 24 minutes on Friday night the Spencerville Bearcats hung right in with the athletic T-Birds. However LCC exploded for 21 second half points to pull away for the 36-7 victory.
The T-Birds took the opening kickoff and went right down the field and it was capped off on a 1 yard run by Brady Parker to give them a 7-0 lead.
Both teams traded turnover on downs to end the first quarter but the visitors got a touchdown in the second quarter and a personal foul penalty led to a two point conversion to give them a 15-0 lead.
Spencerville played trickery late in the quarter as Grady Smith took the handoff and fired a 30 yard pass to Dylan Short which set up a 19 yard pass from Carder Orr to Short to beat the first half to draw the deficit to 15-7.
LCC came out of the locker room and completely took control of the game in the second half. A nine yard pass from Parker to Falke made the score 22-7 and scored once again on a 72 yard run from Lausen Flores to give them a 29-7 lead to end the 3rd quarter.
The T-Birds offense did score in the fourth quarter on a 10 yard run by Flores to extend the lead to 36-7.
Spencerville drops to 4-4 on the season. The Bearcats still have plenty of football to play with a winning season and a playoff berth up for grabs. The quest for both begins next Friday in their home regular season finale when they host NWC new age rival Crestview.
